W hat does it mean to be woke?
Making a quick search about the meaning of the term ‘woke’ directs to a Wikipedia definition which states that:
Woke (/ˈwoʊk/) as a political term of African-American origin refers to a perceived awareness of issues concerning social justice and racial justice. It is derived from the African-American Vernacular English expression “stay woke“, whose grammatical aspect refers to a continuing awareness of these issues.

As it can be observed, the term initiated between people of colour. They had an intention to warn against, or teach other of, the dangers that Black people face on earth. But, the term has now been too commercialised to the point of ridicule. Even some black people question its usefulness today.
Could questioning the term, as a black person, mean that one is not ‘woke’?
